Do you live in the Atlanta area? Do you have a car? If the answer is YES to both of those questions and you want to drive, then you absolutely MUST have auto insurance to get on I-85. Or wherever.

Some states don’t require this; I spent a lot of time in Wisconsin (Chippewa Falls), and no insurance is required to drive up there.

Typically, you only NEED to have liability insurance, unless you’re leasing or paying off a car. Insurance companies usually require you to have either collision insurance or higher until your vehicle is officially paid off.

Speaking from personal experience, if you’re thinking about driving your car withOUT insurance, let me say now that that is a terrible idea. I’ve done it. When I was in my early twenties, I had very little money; even less than I do now! I didn’t think I could afford to have an insurance bill every month, so I opted not to get any.

Little did I know that what I couldn’t afford was NOT the insurance; it was the ticket I got for not having any. Cops typically do not bend on this rule, from what I’ve experienced and heard. Sure, they’ll let a seatbelt violation go on many occasions, but the insurance issue is a big one.

So don’t do it!

Especially in Atlanta.

The nice thing about living in this great area is that we have options; there’s no real monopoly when it comes to auto insurance.

So do a little shopping around, but get a ride if you’re uninsured! For sure.

Well, what do you think? Do you think we should all simply go for the cheapest auto insurance or the BEST auto insurance? Or are we of the mindset that the cheapest IS the best? Let’s discuss.

If we think that the cheapest auto insurance rates are what we should be striving for, then we’re probably all on the same page. But in no way – in my experience – do we stop there. Think about it: if we’re shopping for clothes, should we buy the shirt that costs a dollar that will rip within a day? Or are we better off spending just a little more today in order to not have to buy another shirt already tomorrow?

The cheapest auto insurance quote that you can get is a start, sure. But as mentioned in the above paragraph, it’s ONLY a start. There’s usually a REASON you’re getting the cheapest rates, and more often than not – unfortunately – it comes down to lack of customer service and/or policies that “care”.

Talk to the representative and literally find out WHY they offer such cheap rates. Find out how large their company is and how long they’ve been doing business. This will tell you a lot.

For all of my fellow residents of Atlanta, you know how important finding a good auto insurance agency is, and you know how tight money can be, especially now. So do a little shopping around, get things in writing, and when you finally do decide to get back on 285 with the confidence of an insured vehicle, do it because you know you made the right choice, not ONLY because you made the most AFFORDABLE choice.

Think ahead!

One should not be scared to drive when they get in their car, but I tell you what I am terrified to drive. Not because of the chance of getting into an actual accident, but because of the chance that my car insurance could rise. Isn’t that backwards? I’m scared to get speeding tickets. I’m scared to open my door and scratch a neighbor’s car. It takes so long for your payments to go down. The last thing I want is points taken away from my license. It’s bad enough that you have to pay for speeding tickets and the damages done in accidents. But what really gets me is that you keep on paying for your mistake month after month with a raised auto insurance bill.

The thing that always gets me about car insurance and even health insurance is that they are there “just in case” something bad happens. What if you never get in an accident? I understand going to your monthly checkup but what if you have never broken a bone? If you are legally bound to having car insurance, it better be worth it. Take your time when choosing who is covering you. Call around and get quotes. Do your research and find the perfect company for you by reading reviews and company policies. Atlanta is a crazy driver city and it is important to have good coverage. You should feel comfortable with your provider and know that they’ll have your back in a situation.

Welcome to MyAtlantaAutoInsurance.org. Here you will find a thorough, comprehensive, straight-forward approach to finding and purchasing auto insurance in the greater-Atlanta metro area.

It’s different here in Atlanta, and we know that; we live here, too. Traffic is insane, the cars are faster (and better), and we risk more on a daily basis than many other parts of the country. Traffic jams are just nuts, we have twelve lanes at any given time, and the summer time is HOT. Very hot.

Driving on Interstates 75, 85, or 285 every day from work and back can be stressful enough without knowing if your insurance company “has your back” or really cares about you. Well, we hope to change that type of thinking and would like to offer you resources to help you find the right auto insurance company in Atlanta that will give you peace of mind. We help you find the insurance companies that actually DO care about their clients and are not only out to make a buck(head) off you.

Calling all Stone Mountain residents…calling all Lawrenceville drivers! Are you in Midtown? Maybe you’re nestled in the quaint little town of Tucker. Wherever you are, we’re going to try to direct you to the perfect insurance company that fits your needs.

So welcome to the site, take a look around, and join in the conversations. The more participation we get out of our readers, the more we can make this into the definitive site for Atlanta auto insurance.
